Wireless Connection Not Linking Up

Dear All, Its been a while since I visited and glad to find you are still here. I have a reoccuring problem (lol)... My daughters laptop has had a new harddrive and now I am trying to re-establish a wireless link through my Linksys WRT54G router. Her laptop is a Fujitzu/Siemens Amilo M5400. I had a lot of trouble the first time I tried to do this link up and by flook only did it connect and only with your help.

I've gone through the instructions for the router and my question is: on the wireless security tab it says its enabled. Do I have to disable it before I can get the wireless to to connect to the laptop? The laptop comes up with Wireless Connection 2 and there is the "old" wireless network name which asks for network key. I have put this in and the "new" wireless network name (changed under advance) and it still won't connect.

Re: Wireless Connection Not Linking Up

Best to disable the wireless on your router to make sure you get a connection, then setup wireless security again.
