Trashy as they are though, I haven't heard of a right wing rag calling for actual violence yet. I doubt the dude was just radicalized via newspapers either. He'd have to have had at least some of his wheels fall off to end up like that.

It is extremely sad on what has happened but most were not cowed by the terrorists before and they damn well won't be cowed by them now.

And if that cause is a protest about others committing terrorist acts, isn't that cause "anti-terrorist"?

The tabloid press isn't the big problem here IMHO, it's the internet and social media which aren't bound by the same rules that the other media are and clearly have allowed themselves to become vehicles for all sorts of weirdos and far worse to spread their bile and hatred. It's there that you find the really dangerous stuff and it's still going on right under our noses.

Yes it is. Some have wondered why he drove all the way to London and passed various mosques on the way, but I think that this may be the reason why this one was chosen.

Yup. Far worse out there than the tabloid press. Plenty of far right blogs, YouTubers and social media accounts that can spread this stuff around. It's clear that the internet provides a platform for all extremists to spread their hate and it's hard to police the line between free speech and incitement to violence.
Although we have no idea of what happened here I would guess it's more likely he slowly got poisoned by the internet and those groups rather than the press.

Re: Major Incident: Finsbury Park, London - Van Ploughs into Pedestrians
Or got fed up of islamic attacks and decided to see how they like it, I don't agree with what he did but it's more dangerous for everyone if the growing frustration within our society is just shrugged off with blame falling on the internet. Lets not forget that there is a lot more good done by the internet then bad and we have a government looking to further hinder privacy on the internet of everyone not just the nuts on either side. Right wing or islamic extremism both are a few cookies short of a packet and it was only a matter of time before islam would find itself the target of attacks.

Totally agree with you.
If people don't think that terrorists, including potential terrorists, are being dealt with appropriately, some members of society will seek to deal with it themselves, however wrong that may be.

These people are terrorists too. The idea it's revenge is nonsense and the same excuse people like the Manchester bomber use to justify their attacks, that it's revenge for Western actions in the Middle East. Not only is this not even remotely a reason for it but the people they're taking it out on are innocent.
The people murdered or injured in Finsbury Park were just innocent people. He murdered people because of his own warped mind.

Re: Major Incident: Finsbury Park, London - Van Ploughs into Pedestrians
There is a slight difference here. This guy apparently set out to attack muslims. The nutter who bombed Manchester killed indiscriminately just like those **** behind 7/7, 9/11 etc. They think nothing of killing their own.

It certainly used to be but recently it has made a concious effort to reverse this image:
Finsbury Park Mosque: How religious centre went from 'al-Qaeda guesthouse' to model of moderation
Of course, UK Mosques, some of which seem to have dubious funding sources, need to be, as Caesar's Wife, above suspicion and, as importantly, seen to be above suspicion.
Only then will they be able to combat the negative image pursed by the right of centre mass media.
The publication, in the Sun, of the actions of the Imman in restraining the crowd is a welcome start in maybe trying to reverse this process:
