Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
What a great result for Portsmouth tonight.......
Middlesbrough 0 Portsmouth 4
Looks like more of the same for Middlesbrough this season, just like the last. Beat Chelsea last week, and get slaughtered at home this week, by a team they supposedly should beat.

I would point out that Middlesborough last beat Pompey in 1994. And in the Premiership we have drawn at their ground and beaten them at fratton. Now of course beaten them on their own ground

I take it all back then ! It was an expected 4 - 0 away victory.

The way they are going, Leeds will be bidding for Jack Hargreaves from HOW?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Hargreaves
PS Sir Alex Ferguson lived on the same street as me in Govan, Glasgow (Govan Road) and attended the same boys club (Harmony Row), but obviously in different decades - we'll admit to the alcoholics and the druggies, but we never mention Fergie

Tbh his game would probably be better suited to the Championship. I did see that you have offered 10 million for Trezaguet though, I cant make my mind up about him, sometimes I think he is world class and other times I think my gran could do better

Sounds like you're comparing the England team in the World Cup to a Championship side

Well if one man makes an international team you might be right, I was however comparing the fact that, as he is pretty rubbish he would fit right in at Championship level, you know the Championship where Wales select most of their players from

I would have thought you would have been proud of one of "your own"
with the likes of Shankly, Busby, Stein etc; Fergie ranks alongside them imo

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
According to The Sporting Life Arsenal are in for Tevez.
However........
Quote:
Tevez is in the Argentina squad to face Brazil on Saturday at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium and the plan is to unveil him before the game.
|
statements like this make me very suspicious, surely this isn't a cheap ploy to boost ticket sales, from Arsenal fans wanting to get a first look at a prospective new signing.

I've seen that on the BBC site to, I suspect they want him to replace Rayes either way its not really on to be informing the press of their interest without actually having made a bid.
