Peppered steak puff pastry slices. Steamed veggies. Nothing too challenging but tasty.

Cream of mushroom soup with porcini. One of those Heinz black label jobbies. Tasty.

Individual steak-in-ale pies in ceramic dishes with puff pastry tops. Chips, battered onion rings and peas.

Tough shoe leather aka "sandwich steaks from ASDA". Flash fried, rested and then attempted to eat. Complaint sent.

I've experienced that syndrome. Time expired milkers marketed as prime steak.
Why do they try it on?

Re: What are you eating now thread?
Whole mackerel off the BBQ - totally superb and so cheap. Good healthy food doesn't have to be expensive or difficult to prepare. It was falling off the bone and soooooo succulent.

Yes mackerel is very underestimated in my opinion because in my mind its pretty cheap and extremely tasty.

Re: What are you eating now thread?
We like mackerel too: Especially smoked and peppered. Lightly grilled and with tartare sauce. Yummy.
This morning, a typical English: Bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, black pudding and hash browns.

It was £5kg and we often see it on offer much cheaper. It really makes me laugh when people claim they don't have the time or money to cook healthy food. It takes about 10 mins. fry or grill a fish or 3. Add some salad and crusty bread and bingo.
