VM 8p tariff
Just got an e.mail offering me this deal as a Virgin Media customer. We all use VM phones on the Old Original PAYG tariff which gives 3p texts to other Virgin phones which we use quite a lot. There's not much info in the email so is this new deal as good as it seems, would we need new SIMs and could we all swap to this tariff?
TVM.

Re: VM 8p tariff
The texts to other Virgin Mobiles and charges for Voicemail are the only things you lose money on swapping from OPAYG to Simply 8. The real saving is on calls to other mobile networks. There is also a saving if you only make a small amount of calls per day.
Takes a couple of minutes on the phone to customer services and away you go. All done at Virgin's end, no SIM change required.

Re: VM 8p tariff
Not sure but I think it's only one SIM per account too.

Re: VM 8p tariff
VM are usually happy to add more than one mobile to this tariff, as long as its registered to the same address as the rest of the VM services. I think when originaly lauched the limit was 4 mobiles per account.

Re: VM 8p tariff
Thanks guys. Our calls are currently 21ppm for the first 5 mins each day to VM mobiles and landlines (after that calls to VM mobiles are free and landlines 6ppm all day) but about 40ppm to other networks at all times. Seems like we'd lose on texts and only make that back from calls, to other networks and those made before the 5min daily total is reached.
Anyone know if there's a minimum call charge, what the voicemail charge is and whether bundles etc are available in the same way? The wife pays £5 pm for 1gb web access and would want to keep that.
Cheers.

Re: VM 8p tariff
giffgaff do 8p payg call plans with texts 4p free 0800 numbers and free call and texts to other giff gaff users. they also have call plans you buy monthly for example for £10 you get 250 minutes unlimited texts and unlimited data. They use O2 as a network so I am led to believe the coverage is better than T-Mobile
