As said I have never installed DD WRT but I assume the procedure will be similar to installing TomatoUSB.

I agree it does seem daunting but the first time only took around 10 minutes.

I did however make a mistake as the last operation in the sequence was to reset the router and, in my ignorance, I used the reset button when I should have used an 'erase all data in NVRAM' option. The result was that, after a short while, Port Forwarding became unavailable. Just doing the NVRAM thing restored things back to normal.

Also with the Asus router there are options to recover your original firmware. I would be surprised if TP Link are any different.

Re: TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND to superhub

Greetings earthlings.

I've managed to get the router to work. I had some help from my girlfriends brother. I cant exactly remember what we did but it works now The speeds are the same though which is annoying.

Do I risk it all and install DD WRT and possible ruin everything?!!

Stay tuned for next weeks show
