Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
I've lost track with this transfer, with so many turns or difference in reporting of the story by the media.. I mean Marca were quoting the Daily Mail lol Arsenal will pay big wages but they wont throw money. 150k is what some of the press are reporting which is nuts. anyway the 'pipe dream' will happen. its just a matter of time now. sooner the better.

New Villa striker, Nicklas Helenius, when asked if he was hoping to make same impact as Nicklas Bendtner on Premier League: 'Er, no'

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
Graham Carr is set to leave Newcastle United.
Derek 'Llambizi' quit for what we now believe is Joe Kinnear's inability to spot players, Llambias has been in negotiation with Douglas from FC Twente since the close season only for Joe Kinnear to say he has no idea who he is and he's not interested.
We seriously have no idea where Mike Ashley is going with all of this.
Alan Shearer's name was ripped from the Bar in the gallowgate end hours after a verbal attack on Mike Ashley.

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
Mike Ashley might be the owner of a big company but it has not got a clue about running a football club.

Does anyone else sense relegation for Newcastle this year or am I the only one?

Nope ,i was speaking to some pals yesterday who are life long season ticket holders and they will not be renewing theirs(or so they say ).They feel that Ashley was just starting to connect with the fans and then he just tears up all the work he has done .Have you seen Sir John Halls comments ?

I don't understand neither. are people exiting because Ashley doesnt want to invest further? does he want to instead fight at a level but at the sametime become a feeder club ££££££
edit: club debt has been cut has it not?

Essentially yes, the club debt is not payable to anyone but Mike Ashley so the club is essentially debt free and anyone who wished to buy the club would pay e.g £250 million for the club, £150m value and £100m owed to Mike Ashley.
An interesting comment to Sir John Hall's comments:
Quote:
John
You sold up to this creature, who you said would take the club to another level.
What is he doing...He doesn't know, he doesn't care...you told him he could vacuum money from the captive fan-base just as you and Shepherd did.
You built a Castle with the words 'we've built the stage, now its up to the players to perform', you don't build a stage like this for a pub team!
Why did Ashley start by frequenting the bars in town...because you sold him a dream of a populist owner, your sales pitch of European nights after Barcelona, his dream died when the cost was realised, and the bill for the construction work landed on his desk. The fans wanted the entertainers back, and it started with Keegan on your recommendation,
Wise and Jimenez didn't get it though, and the rest has been cold war. You left him with a bill to pay, remember Cameron-Hall, the long term mortgage for the construction work... £100 million, payable to you... with interest!
He's having a go at the fans, and employs only Londoners just to rub it in, and make his point.
The 'Sir John Hall Stand' has been renamed...not out of respect for tradition.
|
A different side of the Shearer's Bar renaming:
Quote:
ALAN SHEARER has had his name ripped away from St James’ Park — hours after his scathing attack on the current Newcastle regime.
The Toon legend used his SunSport column to blast owner Mike Ashley and his appointment of director of football Joe Kinnear.
And today it was announced that the stadium’s iconic Shearer’s Bar will be renamed Nine after his shirt number.
The club were quick to play down the move, stating it was merely a coincidence and part of an overhaul of the venue which opened in 2004.
But fans saw it as yet another antagonising move from under-fire supremo Ashley.
Michael Martin, editor of Toon fanzine True Faith, said: “There is absolutely no reason for the renaming of Shearer’s Bar.”
Fan Graeme Dawson blasted: “Renaming Shearer’s Bar is an absolute disgrace.”
Former Sky Sports host Richard Keys tweeted: “Childish. Outrageous. Small minded. Insulting. I could go on.
“Enough Mike Ashley. Alan Shearer is the living embodiment of Newcastle Utd.”
