RUBY WALSH has failed in his appeal to overturn the five-day whip ban incurred on October 22 aboard Edgardo Sol at Aintree.

Walsh said: "I'm disappointed, they accepted it was for corrective purposes but not for safety. The whip rules need some common sense, it's going to be a long winter for all of us at this rate, the next time it's ten days and the third time it's three months."

Well its like anything in that we all have knowledge in certain subjects we like but we are not so good in other subjects that do not appeal to us.

RICHARD HANNON jnr accused racecourse officials of treating British trainers like "second-class citizens" after a row over work access to the turf track erupted at Churchill Downs, leaving British trainers furious at the disruption to their runners' Breeders' Cup preparations.

Hannon jnr, speaking to richardhannonracing.tv, added: "It is an absolute disgrace, and I now know why my dad won't come to America. He has always been a good judge and he won't have the Yanks at any price - and he is dead right. It has cost us £120,000 to bring Strong Suit to America, and we have been treated like second-classcitizens.

SNOW FAIRY, who is currently in quarantine,is reported to be in good spirits by her groom ahead of the defence of her Queen Elizabeth II Commemorative Cup crown on November 13.

Snow Fairy, along with Dancing Rain who superceded her as the Investec Oaks winner this year, arrived at Japan's Narita International Airport on Monday after a stop-over in Amsterdam and was transported to the quarantine facilities.

PERFECT SHIRL (Roger Attfield/John Velazquez) gave Canada a surprise Breeders' Cup victory when denying Europe's Nahrain and Misty For Me in a sprint finish to the Filly & Mare Turf.

"I'm really thrilled, I'm real proud of her," said Nahrain's trainer Roger Varian. "She ran a super super race. I'm frustrated not to win but so happy with her run. She got half a length on the winner but it wasn't quite enough. I can't ask any more of her."

RYAN MOORE endured a miserable first taste of racing on American dirt when finishing a mud-splattered last in a Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies that confirmed strong favourite My Miss Aurelia (Steve Asmussen/Corey Nakatani) to be much the best of her age and sex in the US.

"Sheis extremely special," said triumphant trainer Steve Asmussen. "She was everybody's star at every stage and she came through today against a quality field. She ran a great race and I thought she proved herself to be a champion."

A TRAINER having his first Breeders' Cup runner in 16 years and a jockey who had nevereven ridden at the fixture combined with a filly who seemingly had little hope of success as Musical Romance (BIll Kaplan/Juan Leyva) sprang a 20-1 shock to land the Filly & Mare Sprint.

"She is really special," said Kaplan. "She has such speed and she can place herself wherever she wants to in a race. This is it. I've reached the pinnacle."

STEPHANIE'S KITTEN (Wayne Catalano/John Velazquez) pounced late to deny Stopshoppingmaria an all-the-way victory in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf in which Europe's contenders failed to make the first three placings.

"The draw did us in," said Elusive Kate's trainer John Gosden. "We were wide throughout whereas the first, second and third were drawn five, four and six. She also found the ground too loose."

"This is probably the best victory we've ever had," said Ken Ramsey. "It's right up there with winning the Dubai World Cup. I am thrilled. We bred the mare, we bred the stallion and the horse is named after my granddaughter. It's amazing. We're reduced to tears of joy."

EVEN in defeat Shumoos enhanced Brian Meehan's exceptional Breeders' Cup record when producing an impressive stretch finish to beat all bar odds-on favourite Secret Circle (Bob Baffert/Rafael Bejarano) in the inaugural Breeders' Cup Juvenile Sprint.

Secret Circle was an eighth Cup winner for Bob Baffert who said: "Rafael said that when he got into the lead he was drifting all over but he is extremely gifted and talented. It's exciting to win a Breeders' Cup race, especially when you have a heavy favourite."

Yes l looked at this race and my thought were its a tricky betting heat in the 3.10 at Doncaster but yes Kiama Bay at 12-1 is good each way value.

The grey's owner Rober Krangel said: "He can run all day and just plod away. The stretch seemed to last an hour and a half. It was dreamlike watching it all happen."

St Nicholas Abbey, trained by Aidan O'Brien and ridden by his son Joseph, was a brilliant winner of the Breeders' Cup Turf at Churchill Downs.

O'Brien Jr became the youngest jockey ever to win a Breeders' Cup race at the tender age of 18.

A clearly moved winning trainer said: "It's very special, unbelievable. It was a wonderful ride, it's incredible. What can I say, he's an incredible rider."

A YEAR after he was beaten at the post on great mare Zenyatta, jockey Mike Smith exorcised the memory of that defeat to claim the Breeders' Cup Classic on Drosselmeyer and deny former girlfriend Chantal Sutherland her own slice of racing history on Game On Dude.

An already memorable meeting for Aidan O'Brien could not end with a victory for So You Think but he held his own on his dirt debut and was on the quartersof the front-running Game On Dude halfway up the straight and battled hard before crossing the line in sixth.

Sutherland, so near to becoming the first female jockey to win the Classic, was gracious in defeat if a little galled that the person who beat her was the man who had been her partner for six years until they split in 2010.
