Unbeaten filly Rosdhu Queen is among 15 two-year-olds left in the Jaguar Cars Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday.

The William Haggas-trained youngster has won all her three starts, culminating in the Group Two Lowther Stakes at York last month. She now goes for success at the highest level in this prestigious contest also over six furlongs.

Richard Hannon holds a strong hand in the Juddmonte Royal Lodge stakes at Newmarket on Saturday with the unbeaten Toronado and Havana Gold still engaged.

Toronado won the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster last time out while Havana Gold, who unseated Ryan Moore in France, has won all his other three starts.

Shantaram may return to action in the Qatar Prix Chaudenay at Longchamp on October 6 after being forced to miss key engagements.

The three-year-old colt, trained by John Gosden, skipped the Great Voltigeur Stakes at York last month after having mucus on his lungs. Connections then ran out of time to have him ready for the Ladbrokes St Leger at Doncaster. He has not run since winning the Bahrain Trophy at Newmarket in July.

Laugh Out Loud is set to bid for Group One glory in Saturday's Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket.

The three-year-old won a York Listed race and a Group Two at Chantilly earlier in the season, prompting trainer Mick Channon to head to Royal Ascot. While she failed to land a blow when well fancied for the Coronation Stakes, Laugh Out Loud was given a break after that sixth-placed finish.

Trainer David Nagle is favouring a trip to Ascot with Ayr Gold Cup third Maarek.

The five-year-old defied top weight to finish just under four lengths behind Captain Ramius at the Scottish track last Saturday, just a week after notching a Group Three win at the Curragh.

Nagle was thrilled with his effort and is now looking towards the Group Two Qipco British Champions Sprint Stakes at Ascot on October 20 with his charge. However, while unlikely at present, a crack at next weekend's Prix de l'Abbaye at Longchamp has not been completely ruled out.

HANNON EYES DUAL SOMERVILLE RAID

Richard Hannon has declared Havana Gold and Glean as he bids to win the Somerville Tattersall Stakes for the third time in four years at Newmarket on Thursday.

The daughter of Elusive Quality looked a smart recruit to the Godolphin ranks when making an impressive debut in the mud at Newmarket's July meeting and she confirmed that impression when winning the Sweet Solera Stakes at the same track. She completed her hat-trick in the May Hill Stakes at Doncaster and now returns to Headquarters, albeit running on the Rowley Mile, as she aims to grab her first Group One.

Sir Michael Stoute's Telescope entered the equation for next year's Investec Derby after a near-flawless victory at Newmarket.

Send off the 8-13 favourite after finishing second on his debut at Ascot, he needed only to be pushed out by Richard Hughes to take the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing E.B.F. Maiden Stakes by two and a quarter lengths.

Coral offer 20-1 for next year's Classic, with Ladbrokes as short as 16s.

"He's a big horse with lots of scope," said Stoute.

KATE FIRED UP FOR CHARIOT

John Gosden feels Elusive Kate is in rude health for the Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday.

The Clarehaven handler is wary of the competition, though, and believes this season's renewal is as good as there has been in recent years. Four of the eight fillies are already Group One winners, with another three horses having been successful at Group Two level.

CERTIFY STORMS TO FILLIES' MILE WIN

Certify showed an impressive turn of foot to take her 100% record to four in the Shadwell Fillies' Mile at Newmarket.

Held up at the back of the field in the early stages by Mickael Barzalona, the 4-6 shot was asked for an effort and picked up in a matter of strides to go from last to first just over two furlongs out.

Mahmood Al Zarooni's charge was soon well clear and went on to score by four and a half lengths from Roz, with Amazonas third as Godolphin took this Group One prize for the third year running.

PENITENT BOUNCES BACK IN JOEL

Penitent (10-1) bounced back to his best form with a hard-fought win in the Nayef Joel Stakes at Newmarket.

The David O'Meara-trained six-year-old loves some cut in the ground and the rain that fell certainly helped him as Danny Tudhope had him up with the pace throughout on the far rail while Most Improved was prominent in the centre of the track.

Side Glance came out of the pack, but Penitent stuck to his task in gritty fashion to score by a neck with Premio Loco a length and a quarter back in third.

MAUREEN SET FOR CHEVELEY CHALLENGE

Connections of Maureen report the talented filly to have benefited from a two-month absence from the track ahead of her run in the Jaguar Cars Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday.

The Richard Hannon-trained filly, who is towards the head of the betting for next year's 1000 Guineas, was last seen winning the Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot in late July, having earlier looked an unlucky loser of the Cherry Hinton Stakes at Newmarket's July meeting where she was second to Sendmylovetorose.

STEELER SHOWS HIS METTLE

Steeler lived up to his name with a gritty display to land the Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes at Newmarket for trainer Mark Johnston and jockey Kieren Fallon.

Never out of the first two in four previous races, he was handy throughout off a steady pace. Frankie Dettori kicked for home on Artigiano and for a few strides he appeared to have caught Steeler flat-footed.

SUPER SIYOUMA FIRES IN CHARIOT

France's domination of Newmarket's Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes continued as Siyouma ran out a ready winner for trainer Francois Doumen.

Following on from Sahpresa the last three years, Siyouma tracked the front-running Laugh Out Loud under Gerald Mosse and kicked on going into the Dip.

Elusive Kate looked a massive threat on the outside, but she could never quite get on terms with the 12-1 winner, who had three-quarters of a length in reserve at the line.

BRONZE STRIKES CAMBRIDGESHIRE GOLD

Bronze Angel emerged a last-gasp winner of the Betfred Cambridgeshire at Newmarket.

Marcus Tregoning's three-year-old had been off the track since Royal Ascot and only crept into the race as the final 35th runner.

Having raced up the near side for three-quarters of the contest, William Buick's partner (9-1) ended up veering over to the far side to join the other prominent runners. Mull Of Killough looked to have made a decisive break on meeting the rising ground, but he was caught close home by three-quarters of a length.

QUEEN RULES IN CHEVELEY PARK

Rosdhu Queen maintained her unbeaten record by making just about every yard of the running in the Jaguar Park Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket.

Sent off at 4-1, having won her previous three races, including the Lowther Stakes at York, Johnny Murtagh's mount just missed the break a little, but soon recovered to head the field.

Heading into the Dip it looked as if she would be swallowed up by Lowther runner-up Baileys Jubilee, but Rosdhu Queen stuck her neck out gamely and quickened up again to win going away by a length. Winning Express stayed on strongly to take second place, while Baileys Jubilee finished third
