Extend Wireless Using SH

I would like to extend my wireless.

I have attached a diagram of my current network setup.

We have got a spare SH that i am using upstairs as a switch.

My plan would be to swap the the 4 port switch and the SH around.

I would then turn on the wireless on the SH and set the SSID etc to the same as the airport extreme.

Would this work?

Cheers

if you think the shub is going to improve things for you you are gravely mistaken. You need to get yourself a proper wireless router if you are going to use it properly. You can get yourself a cheapo 2nd hand one off ebay for £10 or a nice shiny brand new linksys one It would be over kill either way though because you only need wireless. You could look at getting yourself some homeplugs instead which you could distribute throughout the house.

Re: Extend Wireless Using SH

i have a proper wireless router and that works perfectly. There is something blocking the signal in my house so the signal weakens. I don't need homeplugs as I have gigabit wired around my house hence the idea to extend the wireless down stairs. So if anything it would be an Access point that I need
