So far this second series seems to be chugging along quite nicely, with quite a bit of manoeuvring and scheming, but not really that much in the way of action and achievement. There are almost too many characters so it's jumping about quite a bit. I haven't read the books, so the TV series is my introduction to all of this and I understand the books are quite lengthy tomes. It's probably going to take a long while for stuff to unravel and get to a climax, if there is indeed to be a climax.

It remains very watchable.

The books are huge, but excellent. I got into them during season 1. Loved them.

I've had the first 3 books since before season 1 started. I'm 360 odd pages into the first book.
