Re: The Xbox One Thread
Excellent, I can finally see what all the fuss was about, as when the first two came out I didn't own an Xbox

Re: The Xbox One Thread
Has anyone hear if they he XBOX One's Blu-Ray player will ever support 3D?
As I now have a 3D TV I would like to watch a few 3D Blu-Ray titles I have.
Otherwise I might as well go out and buy a 3D player.

MS has said that it *will*... but given no information as to *when*.
The lack of 3D BD support on the Xbox One (& PS4) is the only reason I've not already ditched my ageing (and noisy) PS3 and got a PS4. It's the only thing it gets used for now, as my SmartTV handles my DLNA stuff and my Xbox One is now my main Netflix and 2D BD player.

I don't even use my console for Netflix unless I'm going to be using Unblock-US. Even then I could just use my TV. All-in-One media centre is useless when your TV does most of it.

The first Halo was good enough that it, together with Project Gotham Racing persuaded me to buy an Xbox. I got invited to one of the launch demos (a beneficial side effect of working for an Uni with a Games Development degree). I played Halo in single player mode and found it had something most FPS games lacked. An enjoyable and coherent storyline. I say that most FPS games lacked it at the time, but, TBH, they lack it now.
Then I played PGR, found it was a good (rather than great) racer with an excellent soundtrack and very realistic circuits (it actually felt like I was driving around London at over 100MPH), and I was hooked. As soon as I could afford it, I bought an Xbox with those two games, and never looked back.

I'd use my TV for Netflix too, but it still has the old Netflix app without profile support... As the Netflix account is in my wife's name, using it via the older app would mean putting up with her recommendations and lists.

Powerstar golf is now a free download, although it is limited but you do get to play a few hole's.
Also has anyone noticed we now get good discounts for digital games from time to time making the disc version seem expensive?
Currently Fifa is 40% off in the store and plants vs zombies was reduced last week.

You mean the occupied edition? It just comes supplied with extra crap with the game eg. postcards etc (pointless). The game is the same though.

Re: The Xbox One Thread
Yup, I got it last night
I'm not that bothered about external storage support, but it's good to have the option.
Auto sign-in is handy, removing one of the only uses I have for Kinect.
What I really want is 3D BD support, then I can finally retire my PS3...

Yeah, we get for some reason you can't buy a PS4 until it has blueray support, as mind boggling as that is. I have a 3D blue ray player, the Sky 3D channel, it's even possible to download 3D movies an play them off a memory stick.
Just admit you currently can't afford a PS4, I have a Xbone and a PS4.
