I can't see Amazon being interested, as for BEIN sports i thought last time they said the market in the UK is too mature, in other words they're stupidly priced.

This is the kind of approach I was writing about earlier - sub licensing out sports rights to other broadcasters to maximise income.

Have they told you that..

No i said competition is good, regardless of if there was competition or not these companies will always milk us for what they can hence why i've cut the cord enough was enough.
The only thing that is FACT driving up prices is greedy ponces in the premier league who roll around like a barrel on a hill if they so much as get a gust of wind into them, Hell Ronaldo got knocked down by a moth (that is tongue in cheek btw).
FACT agents are also driving up prices.
So regardless if the rights were held by one company or half a dozen you'd most likely still be paying what you are now.

It's not a FACT!

You need to read a bit of economic theory. Competition will ultimately get the required result, but it doesn't always come about immediately, particularly when there are barriers to true competition.

I'd have to say mobile phone sim only deals are cheaper than I can ever remember. Scores of companies offering deals starting from £4 per month. You can pick up some cracking deals for minutes and data for around £7. The same deals would have cost you £10 or £12 per month just a few years ago.

In a lot of respects Sports can actually be had cheaper , the competition has drove Sky to offering the complete Sky Sports pack at £20 as opposed to the normal price of £27.50 if you agree to re-contracting for 18 months.

BT Sport also have all sorts of offers.

Have you forgotten how much cheaper telephone bills became when BT lost their monopoly to the new cable companies? I certainly haven't!

And line rental prices have gone through the roof unless your inconvenient memory loss forget that.

Agreed. For the average punter looking to get a range of sports and fast broadband for a fair price, it's never been better. Competition has worked in this respect. And those who want to dip into sports without a contract may do so with a Now TV pass.
For those niche enthusiasts who seemingly must have every sport and every Premier League match available then competition has raised their total costs a bit. But they can now see far more Premier League games than ever before including some in UHD and on a variety of devices.

True mate however there are now around 12 companies offering line rental plus 17mb broadband for around £18.99 to £20.99 per month. Okay not the fastest broadband speed but most come with no set up cost and some with fixed price for 18 months. Just go back 3 or 4 years and a similar service was costing about £15.99 line rental plus £10.00 for the broadband. Line rental price is up, line rental plus broadband prices are down.
