Microsoft warns on IE browser bug

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-12067295
Quote:
Microsoft has issued a warning about a serious vulnerability in all versions of its Internet Explorer (IE) browser.
If exploited by a booby-trapped webpage the bug would allow attackers to take control of an unprotected computer.
Code to exploit the bug has already been published though Microsoft said it had no evidence it was currently being used by hi-tech criminals.
A workaround for the bug has been produced while Microsoft works on a permanent fix.

In other news, some sources were known to suggest that the Windows Update pages were thought to be using this bug already :¬)

Rumour has it that if you play a Microsoft CD backwards you will hear the Devil talking - worse still is the reality that if you play it forwards it will install Windows ...

Is windows a virus? No, Windows is not a virus. Here's what viruses do:
1.They replicate quickly - okay, Windows does that.
2.Viruses use up valuable system resources, slowing down the system as they do so - okay, Windows does that.
3.Viruses will, from time to time, trash your hard disk - okay, Windows does that too.
4.Viruses are usually carried, unknown to the user, along with valuable programs and systems. - Sigh.. Windows does that, too.
5.Viruses will occasionally make the user suspect their system is too slow (see 2) and the user will buy new hardware. - Yup, Windows does that, too.
Until now it seems Windows is a virus but there are fundamental differences: Viruses are well supported by their authors, are running on most systems, their program code is fast, compact and efficient and they tend to become more sophisticated as they mature.
So Windows is not a virus.

In fairness, Microsoft doesn't have a monopoly on security flaws being discovered. Other browsers are subject to them sometimes (Firefox user myself).

Here here, the same old story over & over again, it never ends with the cr*psoft (Microsoft) products at the forefront. When will it end one does wonders or are these bugs or so called holes/flaws where built into the software in the first place for the LEA to use against us normal every day persons. It's getting too much of joke these days to say the least. Microsoft losses are everybody else's (products - companies) gains in the retail world.

Just my view, there is lots of others I guess, bows out into the shadows of the room...
