Re: Euro 2016 thread
Wales where robbed, as Slovakia should have had at least one man sent off, but the official who was looking directly at it failed to see the Slovakian player elbow the face of a Welsh player.

The game is over 90 minutes. . I did see a desperate goal line clearance in the first five minutes, a clear handball from Ashley Williams in the first half. I just felt that over the full 90 minutes Slovakia played the better football, far more possession and more goal attempts as well.
Some meaty challenges from both sides and Skrtyl has always been a bit of a thug.

Skrtyl should indeed have been sent off and the 4th official removed from the tournament. We were all over them in the first half and held our own in the second despite Slovakia pressing on and improving.
Overall we played better and deserved the win.

Re: Euro 2016 thread
I miss the old look Stade Veledrome, it still has those semi oval type stands though.
Rooney's passing is on point at the moment. Not sure if Russia are crap or England are good.

Is it just me does anyone else think it looks like Rose and Walker are functioning almost in midfield?

Re: Euro 2016 thread
They were at first but as Russia are growing into it I think Walker in particular has been caught out a few times, although even when he's there they're getting past him. Balance of play and all it wouldn't surprise me if Russia caught us out and as you've pointed out, we're so far up the pitch at the minute.
More down the wings than trying to use Rooney as a playmaker too, more variety needed. There's a glimpse of Rooney when he's given the ball. Give him the bloody ball!

Yep Walker and Rose don't give my confidence defensively.

Re: Euro 2016 thread
I personally think Sturridge makes better runs than Kane too. Kane's a great finisher but we've got nothing through the middle most of the time for Rooney to give that killer pass too. Rooney can run through gaps but he's rarely given a chance to get ahead of Kane.
Early on I'd have to give credit to Shadow. Rooney has been faultless and his passing could be the difference in a lot of games, assuming we get them. Just needs more of the ball than what he's getting.
All in all a very surprising performance from England. Needs to be tested against stronger opposition of course but still probably the most solid display since the Sven days. Good times ahead if it sticks.
As I said Russia were growing into it they fall right back again. A single goal would open the gates and crush them.

Re: Euro 2016 thread
What a hit son. That wall serves no purpose at all. Floodgates could open up for the final 15. Keep the same game plan.
Can't even get the Russians to come forward. A pretty embarrassing display from them. Bale could tear them a new one.
