I'm pretty sure you can. I don't know what the picture will be like though.

Re: connect laptop to tv

If you have S-video out on your laptop you can go from that into a scart adaper.
Remember to hook up sound too as s-video is only video signal.

Re: connect laptop to tv

You can do it with one of these :

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?...L26AJ&DOY=11m6

I bought one the other week, and it works fine - also lets you run sound through as well with the adapter

Thing to bear in mind though, you need a scart socket that will accept s-video, I had to use the third scart socket on my tv before I got a signal.

Set up the tv as an additional monitor on the laptop, drop the refresh rate down, and you should be away (you'll probably need to drop the screen size down as well)

Re: connect laptop to tv

using a crt tv as a monitor just isn't worth it, it looks awful. trying to read anything within windows is near impossible. I tried it a couple of years ago on my old flat screen widescreen crt. thank the lord for 42" LCD tvs I say!!!!!

Re: connect laptop to tv

I'm trying to use S-Video to scart and the picture quality itself is fine for watching what I want to watch, Except it's in black and white!!!
Anyone any ideas why, pretty sure it's a config thing on laptop, but I seem to have tested every combination making no difference.
It's just a normal tv.

Scart on the TV set to RGB instead of S-Video?

Or the video card output is set to NTSC instead of PAL.
