Re: World Cup road to 2014
Tonights performance was pathetic, no midfield, Rooney was terrible and what the hell was Hart doing coming out and then pushing into a fellow player and pushing the ball away.
Hart is the keeper, and he the 'commander' in the box and should be telling his defenders he is there and in control.
If this is part of the squad Hodgson is thinking of taking to Brazil, he might as well resign in the morning.
NOT one player in the team played to their club potential, and all this rubbish about Hodgson having a dig at the Premier League not giving the England time to blend before the World Cup starts - absolute rubbish.
Clubs pay the players wages, and all they want to do is turn up for England, play 90 minutes and hope they get to Brazil. players are pampered to such belief that they can get that England shirt.
What the FA forget, is that fans pay a lot of money to travel the world to see England play, and what will happen is thousands of England fans will save hard, take time off work and borrow money to go to Brazil- pay lots of money to get tickets, for what.
England were crap tonight, yes it was a friendly - But Hodgson is picking his squad from this shambles. He doesn't have a clue of what to do.He should resign and let someone else do the job.
Even a German player got MOFM, thats saying something - then to get booed off the pitch, that was something else.

England players never play premier league football. As soon as their on the international stage their shown for the arrogant overrated players we've become so used to see.
YouTube Ray Hudson England. It's a 2010 video of him tearing into England and making 100% sense. He's the only pundit with the balls to do so.

Not sure getting rid of Hodgson will help - the past three England coaches have had exactly the same problem - players not playing to the same level when they pull on an England shirt.

Completely right. The idea people have of the likes of Jose or Fergie fixing the problem is crazy. No one but England itself can fix this train wreck of an international team. Need an established league that's highlighted by established English players. Instead we have an established league highlighted by foreigners.

Re: World Cup road to 2014
On that performance, and past performances will not get out of the group they go into.
Hodgson, always comes out with the same excuses. The England payers are pampered so much its a mockery.
What Roy has to do is stop pampering and get down to basics, if you are NOT playing well, you don't get picked.
Kick them up the butt. He is just not strong enough to manage them. What he should have done was at half time, he should have made the team stay on the pitch and do some strong training on how to pass the ball, how to play in midfiled etc.
Total rubbish in my view.

Just seen the second French goal from last night. Just a hint of offside! The French certainly get lucky in these play off games...

Well lets hope we get our little bit of luck in the World Cup itself.

And do what, win a game, scrape out of the group?
I wonder if the players failure to perform is due to the pressure we put them under, remember scolari walking away before even taking the job because of press pressure and Sven said in his autobiography it was as if the press didn't want us to win anything.

Re: World Cup road to 2014
The players are put under more pressure when they play for their clubs. Any pressure they are under on the England is from the sponsors, so there product is being shown.

Re: World Cup road to 2014
Or a Skoda. We have approx 12 months to get it right - or not.
Seriously guys, l am a football fanatic, but my heart has totally gone on England.
We read in the media that they are going to fight to win - well, l think they are all dreaming.
I sincerely hope that the FA see sense and bring someone in that can bring the squad to there full potential - and that to me is Rednappe, he has that passion that is lacking. All Hodgson is doing is making feebl excuses - SACK HIM NOW.

Re: World Cup road to 2014
And really Arthur you delude yourself if you think good old Harry going to do any better as this is the best we have got and Germany put out a near enough second team and were still miles ahead of us.
