contract phone

I have a virgin contract phone and thinking of selling it. Can anyone confirm if the phone is locked to the virgin network or the EE network ?

or can it use any sim ? phone has been a contract phone since it was new and never used a pay as you go sim

Cheers
Dan

If it is out of contract then the mobile contractor has to unlock it. I know EE do this for free (£8.95 if in contract) and it takes 10 days.

Quote:
Hello from EE
Thank you for your request to unlock your device.
The time it will take depends on the device you want to unlock:

Apple iPhone / iPad - you'll get instructions on unlocking your device within 10 days.
Any other device - you'll get your unlocking code and instructions on how to unlock your device within 10 days.

For some handsets, we have to ask the manufacturer for your code.
If this applies to you, we'll text you on the number you've given us with details of any delays this may cause.
Thanks,
The EE Unlock Team
