He was shocking the back end of last season. City are desperate for English players and Liverpool knew it. £49m is insane for him.

I think they do march on Den, just in a different way to how you're thinking The money from sales does get reinvested and they have been climbing the table with different managers each year since promotion. Wenger gets plaudits for his top 4 finishes each year regardless of the difficulties or lack of signing extra players. I see no different to how it is at Southampton albeit mid table vs elite squad. where are Liverpool venturing?
