Question VPN between 2 VM conections

Hi,
If I am a VM subscriber and so is my friend. Can we put a router on each connection and set up a VPN tunnel between the 2 VM users ( assuming the routers are capable of site to site VPN)

No reason why not, as long as you know the destination IP ( or have a dynamic domain name associated with it then there's no problem at all.
