How can i create a password for my router?

I wanted to create a password for my wireless router which isnt numbers, but a word, kinda like the password you would have for your pc.
I hate having to write the password down, or going into the router page to find the code.

Best to state what make and model the router is, so people can actually help you.

how about your favourite holidaying place and the town you live in spelt backwards, you'll only need to enter it a few times and it'll be remembered.

Re: How can i create a password for my router?

on any of the belkin routers if you go to http://192.168.2.1 then go to Utilities and select system settings there you can put a password on the unit.

by default belkin units never have a password on them.

if you want to protect the wireless part (please do from wired computer) go to Wireless and then Security

Re: How can i create a password for my router?

i think people are missing the OP's point here - they wanted help to CREATE a password, not HOW to put one on.
