Changing Package - New Contract Required?

Hi,

I have been with Virgin Media for over a year and am now out of the fixed contract and on the 30 day rolling contract.

I've got the 100mbit service with a landline telephone. I'd like to upgrade to 200mbit and lose the telephone service, but i'd like to keep it as a 30 day rolling contract and not sign up for a new fixed term.

The Virgin lady was insistant that to change my package in any way i'd need to sign up for a new 12 month fixed term contract - is this true?

Yes normally it does as you'll be moving to a new bundle/package

New package does indeed mean new contract.

Weird, as I downgraded several things for a relative last weekend and they didn't say anything about a new contract needed.
