Unhappy Problem with my WLAN connection!

My laptop uses a WLAN connection and I connect when I use it at home to my Linksys router. Wh en I start using the Internet, my connectivity is 54 Mbps during my connection. Then my connectivity drops from 54 to 1.1 Mbps and makes my system slow and sometimes disconnects me from my router. What causes this? Any idea! Reply me!

Re: Problem with my WLAN connection!

As I understand it, a wireless connection negotiates down to a speed at which a robust connection can be maintained - didn't think 1.1Mbps was one of the speeds, though.

Reasons why negotiating down will be necessary includes interference and distance from the wireless access point.

So your connection speed starts off at 54Mbps and gets negotiated down to 1.1Mbps - are you moving away from the access point? Is the computer maybe in the vicinity of an operating microwave or DECT phone when this happens?

I suspect Zingle is asking you to rule out interferance from other networks/devices on that channel . The only way to do this is switch to a different channel.
