NTL 250 Modem sharing

Hi All,
I have the above modem connected by Ethernet cable to my PC. Is it possible to hook up my IBM laptop to the spare USB connection on the modem? Or is there any other way to easily connect my laptop? TIA.

Re: NTL 250 Modem sharing

Hi,

The modem only supports one connection at a time. You would need a router if you wanted to use more than one PC at the same time.

Re: NTL 250 Modem sharing

to the forums.

As DarthYoda says, you can only connect one at a time and will need to turn off the modem and on again everytime you change from USB to Ethernet.
Both will not work.

Your best bet is to get a router. They cost about £25 to £30 and I reccomend the Linksys models.
Your cable modem goes into the back and then you can connect normally upto 4 computers / laptops to the router and all be connected to the Internet.
