Belkin Wireless Router

Hi all,

I have an oldish Belkin Wireless (G) router (I'd dig it out for the model number but its buried somewhere behind my computer desk) and once a week, it loses the ability to connect to anything (external) through port 80 and requires a reboot while this isn't the end of the world, it's certainly irritating, there have been no firmware updates for this router in ages.

Has anyone any ideas?

Cheers
Graham

Re: Belkin Wireless Router

I've got the same issue with my router, a safecom. It coincides with VM changing the ip address which hapens anything between 7 and 20 days at present.

Worth checking to see if your ip address changes at the same time?

Re: Belkin Wireless Router

wired or wireless?

maybe dust is clogging the thing up and it is overheating if it is buried behind your desk

Re: Belkin Wireless Router

Sure it's only port 80? Does email still work fine at the time? Can you connect to the CM web interface (http:/192.168.1.1 usually)?
Does the router have any logging and if so any entries at the time? Does it tell you the IP address lease time, and does that correspond?

Re: Belkin Wireless Router

Yes im certain its port 80, everything else works perfectly, inc DNS resolution on any PC on the network. I don't have a CM, my BB is provided by STB, its not a heat problem as it happens when its sat on top of the desk too and works fine again after a power cycle and also my IP never changes.

Re: Belkin Wireless Router

Just thought I'd point out that Belkin routers have a lifetime warranty.... might want to ring them for a RMA then pack it up and send it off, shouldn't break the bank on postage!
