Project Lightening - Inverkeithing

I wonder if anyone from their experience can help.

VM are currently deploying to Inverkeithing but they've gone past the grandparents house but didn't install any of the little black VM covers on the pavements outside like they normally do everywhere else.

The route they live on is where the main fibre path probably would be linking another town so it maybe it's just that being installed.

Should I look at it as they won't get the service? KY11 9LA - postcode checker is orange - not sure if that indicates anything.

Re: Project Lightening - Inverkeithing

Most new build areas are installing fibre only. These are terminated differently to the HFC network "tees" you are used to seeing.

Re: Project Lightening - Inverkeithing

I was unclear sorry.

The new streets (nothing around this area has ever had cable), have little black V shaped covers outside every house along the trench.

Oddly my grandparents house, seems to be a solid trench, without any little points to go into. I don't see a little cabinet nearby either, but there are only about 8 houses in this little area.

The build is an FTTP build or so the VM reps are saying locally at the community meetings.

Unfortunately the dude holding it was a bit odd and was concerned there were 'Sky spies' trying to unearth the exact streets they were deploying in.

Re: Project Lightening - Inverkeithing

The installs in Inverkeithing just now are the trunk routes feeding the cabinets, the crews will return to do the micro duct to each property as a separate project.
Also not much secrecy in which streets are being done, its all on the Scottish Roadworks register as each street is being noticed, cant imagine there will be many properties in Inverkeithing/Rosyth/Dunfermline that wont get service eventually.

Re: Project Lightening - Inverkeithing

Ah right, that makes sense.

Certainly very friendly crews and the job looks pretty damn neat when done.

The guys have been tremendous so far! Same crews that were digging in Dalgety bay and their works were very tidy. Thanks for the Trekkie, will feedback to the local crews.

Re: Project Lightening - Inverkeithing

Oddly Vivid 300 isn't available, despite the network being brand new around here. Wonder if it'll increase anytime soon?
