Too hot for allotment or playing cricket, so I guess you are stuck with the beer.

Oh I won't be playing cricket, watching it on the laptop in the garden whilst drinking beer, is the best compromise The allotment can wait for the cool evening.
As for my son he's got to revise for A levels, poor sod.

Re: Fathers day
My son is supposed to visit today, I haven't seen him in a year so I'm not too sure how well it'll go.

Re: Fathers day
I couldn't find a card anywhere for stepdad. Yet I would have thought in this day and age that would have been a market to cater for.

Re: Fathers day
We have a double celebration at my daughter's house. i.e. her husband and me. Lots of food and wine.

Re: Fathers Day
Enjoyed a lovely gourmet burger and a few beers with the Osem lads at our local. Quite quiet really so we had a nice table and the food was lovely, not to mention the ice cold beers which slipped down all too easily. It was only soft drinks for them as, despite being old enough, Osem Jnr was heading out later and didn't want to risk having any alcohol in his system. Osem Jnr # 2 brought me home from college a lovely petunia in a small wooden wheelbarrow which he'd painted blue. There was a really nice picture of him doing it inside the card which accompanied it.
Only seems like yesterday that they were tiny little babies and I was changing their nappies...

Re: Fathers Day
These women going around posting "Happy Father's Day to all the Mums who do both" can go and stick it as far as I'm concerned.

Re: Fathers Day
I'd agree but there probably a lot of absent feckless fathers about so you can see where those women are coming from.....

Re: Fathers Day
Dad and lad activity today.
We've been doing some roof repairs on the house: sorting out the pointing and cleaning the gutters. Profitable days work is good for the character.

Not in the slightest. Father's Day is for fathers. We don't try to hijack mother's day and with good reason.
