Re: The Xbox One Thread
The Mediaplayer is primitive i tested 2 files via a USB stick so it may have not played as smooth as it could have, but the old MKV file i had wouldn't play, probably due to incompatible audio which i will have to look into when i have time, however a Divx HD movie played fine although i would like it to me smoother.
You have to install the Mediaplayer app via the SYSTEM/STORAGE settings the first time you plug the USB stick in.

Re: The Xbox One Thread
I'm still on 1408
The September preview is running in parallel with the (still not public) August preview.
Only a limited number of people are on the September update - the rest of the people still on August will move to September when August goes public.

You should be able to manually update yourself from the settings as that has been an option for a while now.

Re: The Xbox One Thread
Yup.
As I said - the September preview is not actually available for all preview members yet. No manual update.
It says in the forums that all previewers will get the September preview once the August update goes public - it's being done like this because August still isn't ready.

Re: The Xbox One Thread
Being able to boot directly to TV is a nice option, i wouldn't have known about it without a google as it is off by default on firmware 1409.

Re: The Xbox One Thread
Has anyone else had an email regarding the Xbox One digital TV tuner?
I have applied to join the preview of it which means if successful they will send me the box to try, the only reason i am doing it is to see if they let me keep it though after the testing! lol

A special invitation, just for you
Dear Xbox Preview Participant,
We recently announced [http://news.xbox.com/2014/08/xbox-on...al-tv-tuner]an exciting new accessory for our fans in Europe: The Xbox One Digital TV Tuner. This new accessory brings Xbox One users in the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain premium live TV features on Xbox One, such as the ability to access your favorite shows and channels through OneGuide. While it won’t be available for the public until October, we’re excited to offer a select few Xbox Preview participants in these regions a first look at the Xbox One Digital TV Tuner up close, as well as a chance to be among the first to give us feedback on this new device by using it in your very own home.

Re: The Xbox One Thread
I had that email, too.
I hope I got in the preview. The email's not a guarantee.
When I was on the preview forums earlier in the week, they said that all the tuner previewers had already been picked (only 100 per country, I think), so I guess they've decided to add some more people since then.
