Re: Linksys Firmware update

Have a look at http://tinyurl.com/zssz7

If that doesn't work, go to http://www-uk.linksys.com/ , click "Support" then "Downloads", then select your router.

Re: Linksys Firmware update

There is a sticker on the bottom of the router - make sure you get the EXACT model / revision, otherwise you might turn your router into a doorstop!

Exact error?

Are you sure you have the correct firmware?

Re: Linksys Firmware update

the error says

"upgrade are failed" with a continue button.... i click that... then it carries on until apprz 75% complete then a popup box appears saying "upgrade are failed" again.

i have got v1.50.5 there at the moment and v1.50.6 that i am trying to update too. i checked the sticker on the bottom and got the correct update. v5.1 is my router

Re: Linksys Firmware update

Are you connected via a wired, or wireless connection to the router.

If you are connected via a wireless connection, try connecting via a wired connection. Actually, if upgrading the firmware on a router, you should always be connected via a wired connection.

Re: Linksys Firmware update

dont really know. i was going on advice from some1 else here that an update to the firmware may solve my problem with the router messing up the connection when im playing online games - command and conquer generals in particular - when the ntl BB is connected straight into my pc i have no problems but when it goes thru the router(which is has to cos it is shared with other people in the house) i have a hard time connecting to the games. i have tried opening the ports but it doesnt really help because ntl use dynamic ip's so the damn thing keeps changing. anyway some1 reccomended that they had heard that other ppl had been having a similar problem and that the firmware update fixed it.

Re: Linksys Firmware update

What happens if you bypass the router and plug the SACM into your PC?

Re: Linksys Firmware update

ntl cable modem straight to pc is fine. no probs with games or p2p or anything. using ICS with the other computers is fine too but means my pc needs to be on all the time...
