Thanks for replying. Its gave me some comfort that Im not the only one and dont have a faulty xbox.
I will try disabling the beta audio and see how I get on.

I want an automatic mute on all players...where people have to choose to hear others, not default to hearing them

I have a feeling lots of people don't realise the kinect has a mic that is always on, took me a while to disable the thing!

Still cannot do Party chat, I get cannot do party chat or something similar.
My NATS is open, and I'm at a loss of what to do.

Is the person your partying up with nat type open ?, only other thing you can try is a hard reset , there is a dashboard update next week I believe, hopefully this will sort your problem out !!

Have you tried quitting any games running in the background before joining a party? It's stupid but it did used to be an issue.

His NATS is on strict, and he cannot seem to change it.
Its to help when he lives in Northern Ireland.
