What Security Encryption?

Nope - it's not the name of a new consumer magazine, but a simple question...

What is the best security / encryption from this list:

WEP
WPA-Personal / TKIP or AES
WPA2-Personal / AES
WPA-Mixed / TKIP + AES

Opnions??

Re: What Security Encryption?

I think WPA2 is the best but I use WPA because my laptop doesn't support WPA2.

Re: What Security Encryption?

WPA2 AES is the best combination if all of your kit supports it.

Theres a thread about WEP being cracked in less than 60 secs. MAC spoofing is also very easy.
However unless you live within distance of a determined person, it should be fine. As long as you don't have a server or suchlike you'd like to protect.

You have a wired router so nobody will be able to get into your network unless they physically come around your house and plug their computer in LOL. I'm assuming you have the firewall on the router switched on though?
