The series does not revolve around one person and if JC goes then so be it as l am sure there are many talented people out there who will jump at the chance to replace him.

Very rarely does a tv series work as well if the main presenter leaves or is replaced .The reason why Top Gear works is because the main presenter (JC) uses the other two presenters as side kicks like Eric Morecombe used Earnie Wise .If JC leaves then the program changes and then you might as well watch that boring rubbish that is 5th gear

Yes, that's so popular you can now find it on the History Channel!

I assume you signed the petition not to sack (JC) then?

It's only a TV show. I'm sure we can move on and not mourn too much if (JC) went.

Nope ,I like Top Gear and JC as a presenter but it's not that important .If he went the show would not be the same and I believe would lose a large portion of viewers with a new main presenter

There may be others BUT the show will be finished without him, mark my words.

Whatever the bbc decides to do with him, they'll lose out big time.

The beeb won't tolerate threatening or bullying behaviour.... Oh wait, it's the beeb who send out millions of threatening letters and use bully-boy tactics to get our hard earned money to pay for their Hobsons choice service.

Re: Top Gear will not be broadcast this Sunday

Angela Rippon was the first of many lead presenters when Top Gear first went on air in 1977. It was considered a highly successful programme long before Jeremy Clarkson made his first appearance in 1988. Perhaps it will be just as successful (though probably different) under a different anchor person.

And the same BBC who tried to cover up Jimmy Saville and his crimes, and the same one who sent cameras to cover Cliff Richard's home being raided. They are hypocrites.

In fact the BBC are in a no win situation. If they sack him they'll incur all the bad publicity that goes with it and possibly lose Top Gear. If they keep him they'll incur all the bad publicity that goes with it, and then he might turn around and quit anyway.

Either way, I think this is it for Top Gear.

I actually think in this case it does, the list of potential replacements doesn't make good reading so far either

The original series was boring in comparison with today. The reality is that present day Top Gear is a look into the minds of 3 middle aged men who still think there kids. I can relate to that completely

Re: Top Gear will not be broadcast this Sunday

Whether or not the current series is less boring than the original format is a matter of opinion.

I like the tongue in cheek presentations such as the recent one on Peugeot cars and their owners but in my opinion most things drag on far too long. I would prefer it if they made a point, had a laugh and moved on, probably shortening each programme by 20 minutes.
