Printer Sharing

I have the WRT54GS Linksys Wireless router. Is it possible to make all PC's in my wireless network connect to the main printer, if yes how? Could you give step by step detailed instructions. Thanks

Re: Printer Sharing

Yes you need to turn firewalls off on your PCs or reconfigure them to let local 192 traffic through

then you need to make sure file and printer sharing is turned on on all PCs (Network Connections > properties)

then right click the printer in the printers folder, select Sharing and Security... the rest should be obvious

then you need to make sure all the PCs are in the same domain/workgroup (right click My Computer > Properties > Computer Name)

Then they should automatically appear in the Printers folder of each PC

Re: Printer Sharing

nffc's post asumes that the printer is plugged into a computer that is permanently on.

Alternatly you can buy
http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satel...VisitorWrapper
something on the above page
e.g. PSUS4 and plug it into your router and your printer into the USB port on this and then the printer does not require a computer to be on for it to work. The PSUS4 is effectivly that computer.
