Re: Could this effect my tv/internet
It will probably be okay as I can't see the inner braiding of the cable showing.

RF is a funny beast. I've seen 540 network cable hanging by a thread still working. Then I've seen it with a tiny kink and not work at all. Just have to give it a go.

Re: Could this effect my tv/internet
Its been kinked but looks more like the cable has been squashed when the Swept Tee lid has been stamped down the hole is probably to high. Needs redoing as the will have caused problem with the performance of the cable. Get them back to sort it out. It will ned repulling as you can't fix the damage where it is and they will be reluctant to come back so don't give in.

It works yes but will be causing all sorts of problems, damaged by the Installers and service Tech shoving the cable out of the way

Virgin wont repull that, they would pull another 12" out the tee and do a splice in the garden

And you reckon there is enough slack to pull out 12" and do a resplice? Nah doesn't happen. Maybe a bodge job with a bit of black and nasty with the poor resplice shoved back down the duct if anything

Re: Could this effect my tv/internet
So you guys think i should ask them for a repull?
im sure they will just say wait and see when ur up and running see how it is..
Does the repull come from the cab ? as there is a paving slab 2 doors up that says catv on it i was thinking maybe the cable runs from the cab to the paving slab then somehow there is some sort of hub there that branches out to the houses.

If its a new cable pull there should be a meter slack back at the cab

Seen it round here: One place there's an in-line F connector covered in black tape just lying on the surface. Another place the cable is duct taped to the ground.

Re: Could this effect my tv/internet
At a property I lived in a few years ago, the same happened to my install - cable bent/squashed just like that. Never had any problems.
The reality is, until you ACTUALLY have problems, Virgin won't waste any time or effort on it.
