Small monitor wanted

Hello.

I have a second Virgin STB which I use exclusively for radio, as I find it the best way round here to get a consistently good signal.

Anyway, I monitor that STB (plan programmes, recordings, etc.) through a 21" Toshiba TV - which I don't watch! So as we live in a very small flat, I thought I'd save a bit of space, and get a v.small monitor instead.

What I'm looking for is a 10" (or smaller) monitor which will take HDMI (for the STB input) and which has sound output through a 3.5mm socket (so I can feed the sound into an adjacent sound system).

Any ideas for such a monitor? The very tiddly ones tend not to have HDMI input. The screen quality is really irrelevant, as long as I can read the menus and programme my STB accordingly.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Small monitor wanted

I have discovered that the smaller the screen, the higher the price these days, unless you're moving up from something quite big. Try a tablet or something perhaps?

Re: Small monitor wanted

I've done some digging around today, Taf, and found one source: TVs for drivers (what?) On e-Bay, 7" TV screens go for about £40-45, and they're fine for my use. HDMI in, some have headphone out, but even if they haven't I can go SCART to 3.5mm from my set-top box.

As I said earlier, screen quality ain't relevant, thankfully, so one of these will do!

But yes, essentially you're right, bigger=expensive, that is if you're looking for quality.
