Question 2 HDMI input to 1 hdmi output

I want to connect 4 HDMI devices to my TV but my TV only has 3 HDMI input sockets.

Any recommendations for an adaptor?

Re: 2 HDMI input to 1 hdmi output

I use one of these to connect a WiiU and DVD player to the same connection on my tv as I also have 4 devices but only 3 HDMI ports. It's self powered, auto switches between devices and is really quite compact for what it does. I've been using it for over 2 1/2 years without any issues.

We use the five port version of this and it's great. The auto switching isn't reliable, as the power state of devices you're using doesn't always indicate "on" or "off" to the switcher. However the 5 port model comes with a remote control so no problems there.

Never had any problems with the auto switching on mine however i've never used the five port version so I don't have anything to compare to.

Re: 2 HDMI input to 1 hdmi output

For simple use any of those switches will work but if you use extra HDMI features such as CEC or ARC, it's worth checking that the switch supports them. Same with if you have 4k devices.

CEC is the thing that allows the same TV remote to control the bluray player and other devices connected via HDMI. Called Simplink on LG's, Bravia Sync on Sonys etc.

ARC you can probably forget about as that is more for AV receivers which if you use, you likely have enough ports between that and the tv.
