Thumbs down VM speed test software gone wrong

Something is wrong with Virgin Media's speed test software.

Repeatedly, I am getting an over-egged upstream speed test result with the VM/Speedtest.net software. My upstream provision is still for just over 22Mb, with only 2 bonded upstream channels, but my results are often over 30Mb. My downstream is as expected.

http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/d...c-e3af8683d373

My results at speedtest.net and dslreports results are just over 21Mb.

It is worth noting that during the software-based test, the upstream test bursts at 150Mb. I have loads of processor resources i5 3.3GHz with only 9.9% being used during the test. At the same time the network speed registers at 21.3Mbps. (task manager)

Re: VM speed test software gone wrong

Hmm, using speedtest.net my uploads on 100/5 are usually around 25% more than 5, so I guess you are seeing something similar ?

In my case it is only the VM speed test software that gives inaccurate upstream speeds, above that of the config.
