Unhappy Telewest Wireless settings

Newbie, so please treat gently: Had blueyonder installed this morning, got it up and running with modem connected directly to PC. Now want to make connection wireless for laptop. Have plugged in router (Linksys WRT54GS) between modem and PC, but don't know what settings to use. Don't what Host Name or Domain Name to use. Don't know whether connectioon is PPPoE or DCHP. Don't know much really. Please help. Many thanks.

Re: Telewest Wireless settings

Hi Chuffy welcome to TW,

WAN side should always be Automatic Configuration - DHCP with TW CM.
You do not need to enter a hostname or domain.

When you have set it up power off both the cable modem and the router.

Power on the cable modem, wait 60 secs, plug in the ethernet cable between the cable modem and the router making sure the USB cable is completely disconnected. Then power up the router. All settings should then be requested from the UBR by the router.

Lan side may be a little more of a challenge. The instruction manual should give you a few good tips.

Good luck.

Thumbs up Re: Telewest Wireless settings

Thanks very much, now up and running. Worked a treat. Now downstairs on lappy, with PC switched off upstairs.

Brilliant, can't thank you enough.
