Dad has seen the doctor and has been checked over although the doctor wants him to have a brain scan at the local hospital just to make sure nothing is untoward..

You can add mine to the list. Two of my siblings would rank on the same level as yours albeit for different reasons. Thankfully I ceased any contact with my sister years ago after she showed her true colours after I lost my wife. I finally called out my brother's longstanding and utterly selfish behaviour after my father died last year and he tried tried to pull the same old stunt yet again. It's best not to lose a minute's sleep over people like that weenie - concentrate on your real loved ones.

A wasted 400 mile round trip to The National Archive today - as they didn't have what I was looking for!
Cheers

Ouch, I take it that you checked in the discovery catalogue beforehand. What were the access conditions and arrangements out of interest if you dont mind me asking?

Deed poll - one of the few things that you can't view on line! So it's a case of turn up and check the index with your fingers crossed. Could have asked them to check for us and would have happily paid the fee but really needed to know today hence the drive down.
Not all bad though as I went in Mrs G's new MX5 which was the days silver lining.
Cheers

Ah what a nightmare. Nothing in the London Gazette then?
Glad you found an enjoyable way to drive through Central London!

Sadly Dad was taken to the hospital around 04.00 this morning as he has had another significant nose bleed as Mum has just phoned us up so we are all just hoping and praying that everything will be alright nash as they are doing the brain scan and other tests today now.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
The NHS
Due to have my pre surgical assement on the 22nd. I'd orginally told them i was away next week on a business trip and not returning to the UK until lunchtime on the 20th
Yesterday i get a letter saying my surgery has been moved up to the 21st.
I ring the consultants secretary first thing this morning to say, how can my surgery be on the 21st when my assessment is on the 22nd. She says dont worry about it
I then get a letter this morning saying my pre surgical assessment is on the 20th at 08:00am. I dont get into Heathrow until 06:30
tl:dr operation cancelled due to bumbling incompetence
