Cost of installation £154.94?
Well I had my V6 installed this morning and everything was fine until I checked my VM account and saw this:
Quote:
07 Feb Activation Fee £14.99
07 Feb Manned Installation Charge £40.00
07 Feb V6 Box Activation Fee £99.95
|
When I booked the install before Xmas I was told there would be a one off charge of 50 odd quid so where has the £154.94 come from?
I am on the Full house TV (XL) package with Vivid 200 Gamer BB and had an old style Tivo and a V+HD. (The V+HD is what was swapped out for the V6).
Does this charge sound right or should I speak to VM?

Re: Cost of installation £154.94?
You should have the manned install credited off and a £50 credit off the V6 activation as your TV and broadband levels qualify for this.

VIP bundle customers get a second V6 box for no additional one off fee.
All other FH + 200Mbps customers have to pay for both boxes.

Re: Cost of installation £154.94?
I had the same problem. Booked the new V6 box on the first day they became available. Total of £64.99 to pay. Received my email with info on February's bill and they were going to charge £90 to much. Bill total £254.99. Phoned them up and they agreed it was wrong and would adjust it. Checked again a few days later still the same. Phoned back and they said that £90 had been credited to the bill but it would not show online straight away as apparently it takes longer for the rectified bill to generate. Just wishe they could get things correct in the first place and not have to go through this agro.
Cheers

According to that I should have been charged £64.90 (box 49.95 + 14.95 activation fee).
Just come off the phone and was told I'd get a credit of £89.95 which would make that link correct bar 9 pence which I'm not going to quibble about . Although she did say she would have to email her manager to approve it as it was such a large sum . Will be keeping a close eye on my bill over the next few days.

You think £65 is a good price when new customers get it for £Free?

Re: Cost of installation £154.94?
Only some new customers do i.e. those on Full House + 200Mbps and / or VIP bundle.
All other new customers still have to pay the £99.95 one off cost for the V6.

Re: Cost of installation £154.94?
Right well I'm even more confused now, is there an additional monthly fee for having the V6? I thought it was just a straight swap and you just paid installtion fee? As I mentioned abox my package was TV XL with Vivid gamer 200. The V+HD box I had was swapped for V6 and I kept my old Tivo

Re: Cost of installation £154.94?
There is a TiVo fee yes. This is nominally £5 per box.
However Virgin have built this in as much as possible to charges recently.
For instance before September last year, an additional V box on Full House TV would cost £6.50 a month. An additional TiVo would cost you £11.50 a month (+£5 TiVo fee)
However since September (when V box sales were stopped) the additional box fee for new TiVo (and now new V6) boxes was dropped to £7.50 a month. So it is still a slight increase, but not now the full £5 it was.
For the core bundles the £5 is is included in the bundle, rather than being an add on.
