Re: Football Season 2016/2017
We are talking about divers Chelsea. And they will always be the same. The ref was allowing to much back tackling and should have shown a lot of yellows. But failed to do so. And Chelsea players feigning injuries
Spurs should have had a penalty, but this was disallowed. I blame this defeat on Poch. He played Son at left back, when his best it going forward all the time.
I think Kane was poor today, he scored a goal and that was it. Poch should have played Janssen.
Instead of replacing players at the hour mark, he decides within the last 15 minutes - no good again.
I THINK Daniel Levy has got to decide on future players at Spurs. What's the point of playing with ONE striker up front.
Kane reminds me of Chivers, a lazy striker. Who comes alive, then hides.
We have got to build a squad that is powerful enough to take on the likes of City, Chelsea etc.
And sadly Levy wont spend the money.

Not been here for a while, but just knew it would be worthwhile having a look today. And I still can't find any of Arthurs comments on Bale tumbling over in the past whilst wearing a Spuds shirt?

Re: Football Season 2016/2017
If United finish in the top four and win the Europa League does that mean fifth place gets into Champions League?
You have to take your hat of to Jurgens fantastic judgement of players. The best forward on the pitch and scorer of two goals is a player he rejected, the best central defender in the ground today had to sit out the game as he has also been rejected by Klopp and is on loan at Palace.

And the messiah, Pep is going to win sweet FA this season.

You really have developed into a fine wordsmith Jim as you have summed up everything so succinctly.

When did the offside rule get changed to 'it's not offside if it's Real Madrid'

Nah. I managed to get some for today but I am not high enough to get final tickets, even season ticket holders have to enter a ballot for them.

That is a pity as if they gave both clubs in the final a higher percentage of the tickets then you might have been able to get some with a bit of luck.

Re: Football Season 2016/2017
Serious investment incoming, it's needed. Just a shame one North East club heads up as the other fall down. Middlesbrough is all on them, Sunderland have been screwed. They're in dire trouble now of disappearing without a trace and they have every right to be narked. Aston Villa scenario again.

Re: Football Season 2016/2017
It'll be the same as last time, Newcastle being the the biggest spenders in England bar City or someone, just having an actual manager at the helm doing that is usually helpful. Not having Carr spend £15 million on some obscure French Winger every season (Cabella, Thauvin)
Jermaine Defoe is at Brighton or Newcastle next season, calling that now. I think Benitez will want a hefty signing too so expect a club record deal somewhere down the line for a striker more than likely.
Expected spend is going to be up there in the £70-£90 million range and will finally see us make a deficit season which can't be avoided because we simply haven't got those £35 million players to reduce the net spend this time round given the relegation.
Summary, gotta spend and we have no way of avoiding making a decent loss for the first year.
Forget about that though. The top four race is just mind blowing.
United play City, Arsenal play United right after that. Liverpool can be overtaken with ease should United pass both tests. However, their scheduling is ludicrous.
