Dimension could be bound for the Park Stakes at Doncaster in September after justifying trainer James Fanshawe's faith by winning the sportinglife.com Handicap at York.

Beaten favourite for the Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot, the four-year-old was sent off the 4-1 market leader this time in the hands of Tom Queally.

And he did it in style, breaking the seven-furlong course record as he galloped home by half a length from White Frost. The first two drew four lengths clear of Imperial Djay in third.

Elusive Kate gave jockey William Buick and trainer John Gosden yet another Group One winner in a golden summer after making all the running in the Prix Rothschild at Deauville.

Narrowly beaten on her belated reappearance in the Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket, Elusive Kate already had positive experiences of the Normandy course as she landed two events there last year.

Buick was able to dictate just a steady pace and was never really challenged until the final furlong, when Andre Fabre's Golden Lilac was released for her run, but Elusive Kate already had the prize in the bag.

Five Ladbrokes St Leger entries will go on trial for Doncaster in the Bet365 Gordon Stakes at Goodwood on Tuesday.

They are headed by Michelangelo, who is second-favourite behind Camelot in some markets for the final Classic of the season and represents four-time Leger winner John Gosden.

Trainer Richard Hannon has scratched the four-year-old from the seven-furlong Group Two.

Tim Easterby is keeping an eye on the weather before firming up plans for his sprinters Hamish McGonagall and Confessional at Goodwood.

Both hold entries in the Gordon's King George Stakes on Friday, while Confessional is also engaged in the Blue Square Bet Stewards' Cup on Saturday.

If the ground is firm, Hamish McGonagall will not run in the Group Two over five furlongs and will wait for the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes, in which he was second last year.

Snow Fairy will not make her reappearance in Saturday's Markel Insurance Nassau Stakes at Goodwood.

The five-year-old has been sidelined by injury so far this term and has not been seen winning in Japan last November.

Snow Fairy finished second to Midday in the Nassau last term and trainer Ed Dunlop had viewed the 10-furlong heat as a possible starting point.

Frankel faces just three rivals in the Qipco Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood on Wednesday.

Sir Henry Cecil's superstar, unbeaten in 11 starts to date, appears to have scared away the opposition for the mile heat.

Frankel's main test now looks likely to come from Godolphin's Farhh, who has run such game races in defeat in the Prince of Wales's Stakes and the Eclipse.

Richard Hannon is looking to win his third Betfair Lennox Stakes in five years at Glorious Goodwood on Tuesday with his stable stalwart Libranno.

Fourth behind Strong Suit 12 months ago, Libranno has bounced right back to his best by winning his last two races at Salisbury and Newmarket, and Hannon could have run last year's winner, but he will now head to Deauville for the Prix Maurice de Gheest instead.

Hannon told his website, www.richardhannonracing.co.uk: "We might have higher rated horses in the yard than Libranno, but I doubt if we have any tougher."

Connections of Encke are hoping the colt can make up for lost time when he tests his Classic credentials in Tuesday's bet365 Gordon Stakes on the opening day of Glorious Goodwood.

The Godolphin colt had looked a potential Classic prospect last autumn but did not reappear until very recently at Sandown.

The team's racing manager, Simon Crisford, said: "Encke is really nicely bred. He is a colt who won his maiden at Newmarket last year and then was off the track for a while. He won a handicap at Sandown and I know he was widely expected to win in the press but actually he was a little bit short of work and ran very green.

Trainer Paul D'Arcy believes Edinburgh Knight is only just reaching his peak as he steps back into Pattern company for the Betfair Lennox Stakes at Glorious Goodwood on Tuesday.

An official rating of 109 suggests he has every right to be competing in the best races, after he only just missed out in the valuable International Stakes at Ascot.

D'Arcy said: "He was hampered coming out of the stalls at Ascot and got stopped in his run over a furlong out, but was only beaten by a fast-finishing horse on the other side of the course."

Jadanna will attempt to follow quickly in the footsteps of Maureen and grab her own piece of Group race glory in Tuesday's bet365 Molecomb Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.

Gold Cup hero Colour Vision faces nine rivals as he aims to secure his third win from as many starts for Godolphin in Thursday's Artemis Goodwood Cup.

The former Mark Johnston inmate made a winning debut for Saeed bin Suroor with an impressive effort in the rearranged Sagaro Stakes at Kempton.

Frankie Dettori sprung something of a surprise when choosing to ride the four-year-old over the more established Godolphin stayer Opinion Poll at Royal Ascot, but he was proved right as Colour Vision edged out Mahmood Al Zarooni's runner in a thrilling finish.

Farhh was due to race against Frankel in a conditions race at Doncaster as juvenile, but was injured in the stalls and was off the track for over a year. Now the son of Pivotal will finally get his chance to lock horns with racing's superstar in Wednesday's Qipco Sussex Stakes.

An easy winner of the Thirsk Hunt Cup in the spring, Farhh looked unlucky when third in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes at Ascot, and came out in a better light when a fine second in the Coral Eclipse.

Trainer Saeed Bin Suroor said: "Farhh has been doing well since he ran at Sandown and I have been happy with him."

Noble Mission shaded a thrilling bet365 Gordon Stakes at Glorious Goodwood and put himself firmly in the picture for the Ladbrokes St Leger.

Sir Henry Cecil's three-year-old is a full-brother to esteemed stable companion Frankel and was 11-4 to get back to winning ways following a couple of narrow defeats.

Tom Queally rode a confident race and was still last rounding the turn for home, but the hooded Noble Mission picked up well when asked to challenge the unexposed Encke. The leader refused to go down without a fight, but Noble Mission got the better of a protracted duel by a nose.

Chachamaidee got back on the winning trail with an authoritative victory over her male counterparts in the bet365 Lennox Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.

The smooth-travelling mare (5-4 favourite) had collected a Group Three prize at this meeting 12 months ago, but faced a sterner test on her return to the Sussex Downs.

Sir Henry Cecil's charge was last out of the stalls in the hands of Tom Queally, but the rider did not panic and once he asked her to stretch in the straight, she showed her trademark turn of foot to win by a length and a half from Libranno, who edged out gallant 11-year-old Mac Love for second.

Mick Channon's Bungle Inthejungle denied hot favourite Morawij in an exciting climax to the bet365 Molecomb Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.

Roger Varian's Morawij was sent off the 2-1 market leader following solid support and looked likely to collect when quickening up to take the lead a furlong and a half down.

However, the more prominently ridden Bungle Inthejungle responded generously to the urgings of Martin Harley against the rail to win the argument by a head.

Colour Vision will be seen to even better effect in the Artemis Goodwood Cup if the rain stays away, according to Godolphin's racing manager Simon Crisford.

Since joining Saeed bin Suroor from Mark Johnston at the end of last season, the four-year-old has won both of his starts - in the rearranged Sagaro Stakes and the Ascot Gold Cup.

He is forced to carry a 4lb penalty on Thursday for that success but Crisford believes that as long as the ground does not become soft, the Rainbow Quest gelding is capable of showing an even higher level of form.
