Re: Rate the last movie you saw
I saw the original The Mechanic earlier this week, with Charles Bronson and a very young String Fellow Hawke (Jan Michael Vincent). I enjoyed it. Couldnt beleieve it was made in 1972. One of the baddies was talking into a radio... the antenna was about 3 foot long lol....
7 out of 10

Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Prometheus. 7/10. Maybe 8/10 if I'm feeling generous.
A strange one, it was a good film but with a few tweaks could of been absolutely superb. It still leaves a lot of unanswered questions but very enjoyable.

Re: Rate the last movie you saw
l see you gave Promethus 7 out of 10 Derek is that because you feel it could have been a bit better and how do you think it measures up to the original Alien films.

Yep. I think it could have led more directly into the first film.
In ranking I'd go:
Alien - Aliens : Both superb and depending on my mood both are equal favourites
Prometheus - Very good, could easily stand on its own.
Alien 3 - Quite under rated. I liked it.
Alien Resurection - Not bad until the 'newborn' bit which killed the film stone dead.
All the AVP tosh

Yes l have to admit the first was absolutely brilliant as it had that wonderful claustrophobic feel to it and yet the second was all action and that was good two and although 3 and 4 were very watchable its very hard to match the first two but l will watch Prometheus and will then give my humble opinion on it.

Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Prometheus
7/10
I went in with rather low expectations, but I actually quite liked it.
Not as good as Alien (or Aliens), but a hell of a lot better than Alien 3 and (especially) Alien Resurrection.
Fassbender was (as always) brilliant, and outshone the rest of the cast.
Very interesting premise and expansion of the "Alien universe". A bit short though. Many things could (should!) have been expanded upon. I hope that the BD/DVD release has a nice long Director's Cut...

Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Prometheus 7/10
Not quite what I expected but still very enjoyable and delves in to the back story of the universe a lot more. Still room for a sequel or two as well as it is still set years before Alien.
As above fassbender was great.
Don't expect lots of scares and running. It's more talking and exploring/explaining.
Don't think it was too short though. Running time is over 2 hours.
