There should be a licence for professional footballers with a good conduct clause.. Any criminal convictions for violence, drugs or fraud should mean removal of the licence..

Yes I agree 100% that this should be the case.

Re: Football Season 2011/12
Yea because Barton is being offered away for free for no apparent reason, probably the same reason Kevin Nolan was flogged for beans.
What has gone on in the past few weeks is an absolute disgrace and the fact the board that sits over the Premierleague have just sat and watched as Multiple Newcastle United players receive fines for telling fans what is really happening.
The treatment of Barton and Enrique is a disgrace. It has also shed light on the fact Alan Pardew is no more than a Yes man.
Club released this about Barton
Quote:
Several dressing room rows towards the end of last season, as well as during pre-season.
The refusal to shake the manager’s hand after being told he hadn’t been appointed captain at Leeds.
The potential to be a bad influence on younger players in the dressing room, with several of the squad still under 21.
The impression created on United’s new signings and future signings of the club, some of which could be in place soon.
A rant during the warm-up at Leeds, at half-time and at full-time following the 3-2 defeat.
Barton’s dismay over the decision to allow new boy Yohan Cabaye take all of the corners and free-kicks during the game against Leeds.
|
But Pardew says
Quote:
Joey's behaviour has been exemplary, often under extreme provocation, since I've been here. Joey is conducting his life off the pitch in the right way.
"Since I have managed Joey he has been a quality player for me and deserves the armband. In life, you have to deal with people as you find them. I don't dismiss anyone because someone told me their reputation is that of a horrible person or a nasty player.
"Joey's career has been about extremes. I have to make sure he is on the right path and I am doing that. I try to give him the guidance and respect he wants
|
I am not going to turn against one of our own players after all that Ashley has done.. He thinks he can make us believe Barton is the problem at Newcastle... your having a laugh mate! I thought Ashley's story of putting Money into this club to help was believable but after what's gone on in the past few weeks its clearly another fabrication similar to the one above. If Barton was unhappy with the captaincy going to Shola Ameobi at Elland Road, who can blame him? It's reassuring that someone with a squad number was bothered enough by Sunday's display to have a rant, rather than sleepwalk home wearing headphones as many of them did.

Didn't we get £5m for Nolan? For someone of his age (regardless of quality) I'd say that's pretty good.
I'm bias against Barton because I just don't like the man. He's been offered everything on a platter by Newcastle and he's smashed the platter back into their face.
Good riddance.

By giving them two top notch seasons then wanting a longer contract?
Pundits regarded him as one of the best mid-fielders last season. This league has the likes of Lampard, Gerrard and whatnot in it.

I'm not saying he lacks in quality because he is a decent player, but he's an egotist if he can complain about anyone after the things he has said and done. "I've been fined two weeks wages unfairly", boo hoo, he get paid over four million pound a year and thinks he can say what he wants about the people that pay him.
Hope he leaves english football for good along with Ballotelli.

But the person that pays him is one of the biggest *s to ever run a football club. Barton has every right to slam Mike Ashley and so do the 52,000 loyal fans that line his back pocket week in week out.
No players = No football.
As for balotelli he is another that is being ridiculed constantly and it wont get better if his own supporters ridicule him as well!
Ah, missed your Nolan thing. Transfer fee was £3.5 million.
I really hope this selling is part of a much bigger picture. I see a french midfield forming and hopefully Shola Ameobi packing his bags!

Who considers them the same? I try not to compare people, every ones different and should be judged on their actions. Fact is they are both trouble.

His own team mates are getting in on the ridiculing to
Mario Balotelli's Manchester City team-mates gave the prank-loving striker a distinctly fishy taste of his own medicine by planting a bag filled with kippers behind the front seat of his Maserati. He discovered it a fortnight later.

Graeme Swann's view
Joey Barton has been released on a free transfer. You what? To me, letting him go is like committing hari kiri.
I wasn't particularly a fan of Joey when he first arrived at St James' Park because, like most people, I'd read all the stuff written about him.
But the way he played for Newcastle and the pride and commitment he showed towards the club was fantastic.

Yes l agree with you as everybody's different and yes we know Joey Barton was convicted of violence but this is such a word as forgiveness as l sure we have all made some serious mistakes in our life ourselves.
And as for Balotelli perhaps they should have done their homework before they had bought him.

Yeah, it would have been nice to see us get N'Zogbia back, why didn't we make the same £10m offer we did in January when he's went for £9.5m?
Ashley obviously had bid that at the time knowing that Wigan needed him for the rest of the season just so he can say that he has put up money should criticism come his way.
We still really need a striker though, Ba isn't going to do wonders on his own and the rest are useless. Carew maybe? He's out of contract so will suit Ashley's new ' regime'.

I always thought Carew had good aerial ability but in my books he does nothing Shola Ameobi cannot.
What we need is someone that can actually Kick the ball into the net instead of these 6 ft players with heading ability. Martins was the last lad we had that could pick the ball up and finish it. Carroll could finish but again it was more about his heading height. Give us a guy with pace and a finish!
