For example. Eduardo dives and the ref immediately gives a penalty. Its a good minute or two before the player steps up to take the penalty. The replays are instant and in the minute or so the 4th official can clearly see there is no contact. So during the run up to the penalty the 4th official can contact the ref on the radio and tell him he dived. Eduardo is booked and play goes on. Play isn't interrupted any more so than the natural flow.
It only needs to be done for game changing moments. I.e. goals and sending off. It doesn't need to be if a player dives in the middle of the field.

Yup, I agree with this. Certainly no reason why we cannot have technology to see if the ball crosses the line or not. Pens are harder because normally dives are not so clear cut as it was last night so even the TV cameras might be hard pressed to make a choice.

It should be a straight red, plus the club itself should be fined also, as they are not going to say anything to the player are they ?, the club win the sup, they are not going to be bothered by a silly fine are they.

Not so much for Arsenal and United tho. We got a nice group, Chelsea argubly have the hardest of the English teams. A, C and D are the hardest. England seem to have done well

Not sure about that, lots of sides wanted to avoid Wolfsburg.

Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
Liverpool and Chelsea have really tough groups, Uniteds group is ok apart from the traveling involved and getting the toughest team in pot 4, Arsenal have paid someone to get that group ( ) and Rangers have a decent group. All the English clubs should qualify and Rangers have a good chance as well imo.

So that's where the money from Man City went.
Seriously though. Look at the other groups and tell me the English teams didn't do badly out of the draw.

Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
as an arsenal supporter am very happy with the group I really dont envy ManU for having to go to Besiktas how many English teams have lost fans in there??? also Moscow isnt a nice destination really with the visas etc.
I think all the English teams will go through without too many problems. dont think Rangers will...

I think your underestimating a few teams. Lyon, even though they sold Benzema are a quality team, they're the 3rd highest spenders in Europe this year and they've bought quality players, Fiorentina are a decent side as well, so it won't be straight forward for Liverpool. Porto gave United a good game in the quarter-finals last year and Atletico Madrid are a very good side, they beat Liverpool pre season for example. Of course the English sides will be happy to avoid the likes of Madrid and Inter and will most probably qualify but they're not staightforward matches.

Not all that different to the FA regularly ruling in Arsenal's favour when David Davis was on their board a few years back.

David Davis
Two wrongs dont make it right, imo the best man for the job should be in place and his professionalism shouldn't be questioned, if I were Galley I tell 'em to stuff their U21 job but he probably wont being a professional.
