Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
How did the Glazers manage it? Didn't they force the club to sell to them? Can't the Knights work out a similar plan?

Club was on the stock market then. Was just a matter of Glazers trying to get the shares. One they got to 75% they could delist, when they got to 98% they could force a compulsary sale of the rest of the shares to them.

Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
I don't underatand why they wouldn't want to sell. At 1.5 billion they would be making a huge profit. Surely after five seasons they can see making a huge yearly profit isn't going to happen, even with winning 2 or 3 trophies a season. There isn't a great deal more expansion the club can do, I know they take a large slice of money which brings the final profit down but surely they can see it's not the most profitable business to be in?

Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
to be honest i'm not really a fan of these Red Knights people either. Having seen what these city people are like they are basically doing exactly the same as the Glazers. They want to put up about 50p and then get a loan for the rest of the 1 billion they need. That adds even more debt to a club that are already in debt so I can't see how this is any better than what we already have

Anyway I'll get this out of the way now - congratulations to Chelsea, just make sure you take good care of our title and get the trophy nice and shiny for when you return it back to us next year

Breaking news... Man City are to replace Mancini with....... Harry Redknapp
Quote:
This surfaced this morning on Manchester City’s finest unofficial forum, Bluemoon.
‘Listen do not believe what the media and the chairman are telling us.
Because as my friend and former work colleague of the club reiterated to
me again today that Mancini’s days are numbered.
It is not performance related is what she has since told me and that it
is just his face does not fit with certain board members. They want
a homegrown manager and I know you will not like hearing this but
they will definitely make an approach for Harry Redknapp. She said they
will make a huge offer for him.

Phew. Arsenal kept third easily in the end, was worried they would throw it away!

What were the Man Utd fans shouting when Ferguson was trying to speak? Cheering? Protesting?
