Call me a pessimist but....not getting a world-class striker during the summer will cost us.

I see what you mean

Yep....

But the final scoreline should not mask United's earlier deficiencies in front of goal as a better team than Wigan would have punished the champions for their failure to take their numerous first-half chances

Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
There's a rumour going round that United are going to offer £10million + Carrick for Modric before the transfer window closes, not too sure if there's any truth in it but Carrick has been left out of the squad twice this season already. It might just be a joke about Spurs signing another ex-player though...

16.04 Manchester City have confirmed the signing of veteran defender Sylvinho on a one-year contract.
Free transfer i believe.

Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
Not a bad signing if you ask me, the guy has a lot of experience with top class football and will be great back up for Wayne Bridge.
What`s this free business all about surely as it`s City they must have paid at least 10 Million for him....
@Sox->That`s a tough one! If where talking about a Man City player then i would have to say Kinkladze, one of them who gets bums off seats.
Emlyn was class but for me the best Liverpool player ever was Dalglish, that guy was a genius.

Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
Liverpool lost 2 games last season, they have now matched that tally! Although to be fair it was the draws that cost them the title, United lost 4 games.
Still, Losing away at Spurs is not ideal but not a real disaster. Losing at home to Villa and recording your second lost in 3 games is a bad start and if they lose anymore in the coming weeks they will do real damage to their title hopes.

Lets put this in perspective, Villa beat Liverpool away, Wigan beat Villa away, United beat Wigan away, nuff said.
