Re: Football Season 2015/2016
I enjoyed the Mexican wave better. Yes, it was a friendly. But l thought it was terrible game.
When we play in the Euros, we are going to be playing TOP quality sides, NOT Sunday leagues sides.
I said after we didn't go through the group stages in the World Cup. The FA should have sacked Hodgson.
He hasn't even decided on the formation we are going use. I would have taken Townsend, and dropped Wiltshire.
Townsend, is a great runner, and scores goals.
Wiltshire is injury prone.
They should have brought in a new Manager, ie Mourinho for example. He would have motivated the players.
I would definitely not had Rooney in the squad. He is to much of a hot head and will get sent off, in important games
On tonight's performance we were very poor. As l said, l enjoyed the Mexican wave more
Looking at Hodgson sitting on the bench, he could have been saying 'what the heck, can l do to improve things'
We have a good squad, BUT, there are players that shouldn't be going.

We will see Den.....
Wouldn't miss Wanyama and his ill discipline.
Even Mane and his tantrums isn't irreplaceable.
As for Koeman, well I would rather he didn't go but the fact is he is a good manager not a great manager. As evidenced by the lack of interest in him by the likes of Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea and your Liverpool.

Re: Football Season 2015/2016
He's apparently agreed terms with Everton. Just sorting out the compensation package for Southampton now. It will be interesting to see who Southampton go for next and see if they can actually get them to stay for a while instead of using them as a stepping stone.

Re: Football Season 2015/2016
The thing is Southampton no matter what way their supporters put it are a selling club and that's not going to change and the same sentiment applies to their managers as generally they are just passing through on their way to bigger clubs then Southampton.

The usual definition of a selling club is one that has to sell to survive.
That is clearly not the case with Southampton.
What they have is an excellent scouting setup which sources relatively low priced players, develops them, then sells them for a profit to richer clubs.
That is a business model.
I would be the first to admit that the club is not ambitious in the same way that some clubs are in a scattercash way.
Football managers are measured by their success - cups etc.
Koeman's head has been turned by the ludicrous amount of money being offered to him to try and buy success.
It is not necessarily a formula for success - see Liverpool and Man Utd for further details.
Koeman is going to a club with a proud history, I would question whether they are a " bigger " club at this time. Their owner has less money than our owner, he just plans to throw loads of money at their problem rather than development.
That worked out well for Portsmouth didn't it?
Bought an FA Cup then disappeared into obscurity....

Yes it is a good article as he is one journalist who always writes a well reasoned and articulate article generally.

Its a business model doomed to fail, you can't sell your best players each season and hope to compete or even survive, Wimbledon, Newcastle and to an extent arsenal have all tried and failed, it's a dangerous game that will eventually loose. Portsmouth are best held up as an example of how stupid the fit and proper person test is, a gun runners son was only ever going to end in disaster and if I was a fam I'd still be demanding to know what happened to all the money, their players might have commanded big wages but they were sold for big money to.

I tend to agree with that TD in the long term.
I see Leicester are going to be raped too.
The rich* clubs really don't like interlopers do they......
* Financially rich, morally bankrupt.

I hoped Leicester could hold the team together for at least another season but if they lose Vardy they can lose anyone. It's an exclusive club at the top and the likes of Leicester won't be tolerated for more than a season.

Re: Football Season 2015/2016
The other issue is that if Vardy goes go, and I think that's an odd signing for Arsenal, then what incentive is there for Kanté or Mahrez to stick around? The 'stick together' only works if they all do it otherwise everyone will suddenly be looking out for themselves as well.

Re: Football Season 2015/2016
Most football players preach loyalty by kissing their badge and pledging unswerving loyalty to their club but in essence that is just utter rubbish as the vast majority of footballers are extremely selfish and if they can get a bigger pay day elsewhere then its usually adios.
