I have to agree it was a bad one, i didn't realise til i saw it at half time and deserved a red. I don't think nani's antics afterwards helped. If he'd just stayed down without jumping back up, running after the ref and then throwing himself on the floor Jamie might have got the red we'll never know now.

TBH there are many times that I would like to kick Nani myself.

Liverpool won and deserved it, but how Carragher stayed on the pitch is anyones guess. Here is a picture of what he did to Nani, i wonder if he will get crucified as Rooney did last week, because looking at the evidence he would certainly deserve it.

I know it was more frustration having just handed us the second goal but I think some of his team mates were embarassed

van Persie sent off for a silly reason which in any other game wouldn't have been punished.

Arsenal are out - BUT to me the silliest sending off of Van Persie, beggars belief.

The second card was a travesty but it was his own stupid fault he got the first one.

Re: Football Season 2010/2011
It was an awful decision but the way the game was going i don't think it had any bearing on the end result. Barca were by far the better team over the two legs.

Agreed. I can't help think that Arsenal were a bit too negative though. They should have at least tried to take the game to Barca more. They hardly managed to come out of their half in the first half. Barca might have punished them for it, but they did so now as well.

Erm, no, the exact opposite is true. We had just forced a corner and got an equaliser out of it, we were on our way through to the next round. RVP was sent off because he shot at goal when he was one on one with the keeper - it was offside of course but we were creating. That period was the only time we really looked like we could actually get a result.
Arsenal were merely 1 goal away from going through, yet having a player sent off (a striker no less) didn't have any bearing? What rubbish. They were a whisker away; just because Barcelona dominated play doesn't mean they walked it as the Barca/Inter 2nd leg last season exemplifies.
It's funny. Had Bendtner managed to score from his chance (by the way, just imagine RVP on the end of that instead) then Wenger would be hailed a hero and tactical genius, as Mourinho was last season. Arsenal were a miss control away from the next round and avoiding the wrath of hypocritical media and fans.
Why didn't Wenger just play defensively? That's why they lost!

Maybe. However it's hard to feel cheated when Barcelona were so dominant throughout. If we had preserved that lead then it would have felt like a smash and grab. I would have taken that but I don't feel anything other than Barcelona deserved to go though.
Let's remember they had a blatant penalty turned down and a goal incorrectly ruled offside in the first leg.

Such is Football. You are often a kick away from glory or defeat. A teams performance is coloured by the result. At the end he didn't score. We mustered 0 shots.
However it's pretty clear that we played defensively and didn't keep them out. Inter did, what's more Inter were calmer when they did it and Barcelona didn't look like scoring whereas they did last night.
We were beaten by the vastly better side. A failure to accept that could lead us to spoil the rest of a still promising season.
