If ITV do end up using this space themselves, does that mean there weren't any buyers since they could've done it much sooner?

ITV3+1 shares with CITV on COM4. If you mean it was going 24hr on COM7 I was under impression That's TV Gold took the last space there.

Or do you mean ITV3+1 takes the ex-5Select COM4 space temporarily until the COM7 closure forces one of those channels to take it or leave DTT?

Re: Freeview changes
More cuts to local news on that's TV
Quote:
Further cuts at That’s TV 1 November 2021 Following Ofcom’s green light, 15 out of 20 local TV channels owned by That’s TV will have local news produced from outside their region. Two studios, one in Glasgow and one in Manchester will record links for the entire network, with local studio bases in Cambridge, Salisbury, Swansea and York axed.

They reported a new license for Vision the other week too. I don't expect to see any difference in that instance as I believe it's just for delivering their existing IP service via HbbTV rather than MHEG.

Re: Freeview changes
QVC Beauty HD is technically still on Freeview, it timeshares for 2 hrs with its parent QVC HD. The slate says you can get "all" channels by Pressing Red. So it sounds like they deliver it via internet. Whether the internet versions are HD I have no idea.

Midnight to 5am freed up, so Midnight to 6am now free. Can only see it being of use to Ideal World as they have the rest of that stream.
Unless a +1 placeholder service wanted it for overnight use e.g. Yesterday+1 which is currently 2hrs from 5am on COM5.

Or maybe Xpanded TV take it for longer/earlier hours and Smithsonian goes 24hrs?

Also Xpanded TV broadcast on COM4 but Studio 66 was on COM5 (as posted by Freeview - as posted by you on Forum Box UK)

Yes, if you go to that channel, there’s nothing on.
None of them had anything on before, to be fair.

So true.
I wonder how much transmission money those first channels that stopped at midnight saved that stopped them taking the overnight space on the streams in the first place. If those channels can afford it it must be pretty minimal the cost saving.
